Executive Committee News:
2021 IBITA AGM / Congress
The virtual AGM will be held on the Saturday August 28th 2021 from 13.00 – 16.30 European time and will include the announcement of the results of the elections for office bearers and discussion of the reports and motions. Postal votes – MOTIONS shall open AFTER the virtual AGM.

Please remember to be able to vote, full members must have completed their Statement of Instructor Status (SIS) before 30^th June and have paid their IBITA subscription before 12^th August 2021.

We encourage all members to review and discuss the AGM Agenda.

• The initial agenda was posted June 26 and the final agenda shall be posted July 24, 2021.
• This provides a unique opportunity for members to review the AGM agenda, submit questions and comments to ensure full understanding of the reports and motions and to share perspectives before voting. Language groups are encouraged to collaborate to help ensure understanding.
• The submitted questions and comments shall be the basis of our virtual AGM and ONLY agenda items with questions/comments submitted by August 13, 2021 shall be discussed during the virtual AGM.
• Please submit questions/comments to the IBITA Secretary, Janice Champion, email: j.champion@ibita.org.

  • Subscriptions to be paid after 1 July and no later than 12 August –  Invoice.

• July 21, 2021
  • Deadline to submit nominations

• July 24, 2021
  • Final AGM Agenda will be posted on the website. NO motion amendments are possible.
  • ONLY agenda items with submitted questions/comments shall be discussed during the virtual AGM. All members are encouraged to review the agenda and submit questions/comments regarding the reports and the motions by 13 August 2021.

• July 29, 2021
  • Research Poster submission deadline. Submit to Agnieszka Śliwka, Email: agnieszka.sliwka@uj.edu.pl

• July 31, 2021
  • IBITA Professional Development Support Grants. Due one month prior to the IBITA Annual General Meeting. Refer to Procedural Manual 5.1.1
  • IBITA Conference Support Grant deadline. Refer to Procedural Manual 5.3.2

• August 12, 2021
  • Subscriptions payment final deadline –Invoice.

Subscriptions MUST be paid by 12 August 2021 to have voting rights.

• August 13, 2021
  • Deadline to submit AGM questions regarding AGM Final Agenda items. Please submit to the IBITA Secretary, Janice Champion, Email: [email protected].

Covid-19 EXEMPTIONS
The Executive and Education Committees are continuing to work together to provide advice and guidance for planning and teaching IBITA courses during this pandemic.
Please remember to contact the Executive Committee for all exemptions and questions.

Please remember the that all members have been granted exemptions for

• Not teaching a course from July 2019 to June 2021
• The 2020 and 2021 AGMs will not be counted when establishing compliance with the AGM attendance rule.
• More Experienced Instructors – The period 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2021 shall not be counted to establish compliance with the requirement to evaluate Instructor-Candidates on Basic Courses in the previous 5 years

Education Committee
Education Committee Webinar Series 2021

The Education Committee is pleased to invite you to a series of webinars to be held this year to help us stay connected and tuned to our association, and to share knowledge and experience regarding the Bobath Concept.  During the webinars it will be possible to ask questions online to open discussion on the topic.  The webinars will be recorded and available on the website for those unable to participate in the online session.   There is a webpage for online education resources  LINK

• Title: The revised definition of the Bobath Concept: terminology clarification.  Instructors: Julie Vaughan Graham, Marc Michielsen, Ann Holland, Mary Lynch-Ellerington, Maarten Bossuyt, Helen Linfield, Hokari Yoshide, Monica Morelli.  Date: August 2021 – further details will be available soon
• Title: ICF and the Bobath Concept. Instructors: Sheena Irwin-Carruthers and Elsje Scheffler.  Date to be determined
• Title: 7 Case studies using the MBCP by IBITA members. Date: after September

Instructor Training Committee
The ITC BCI-C / ACI-C ON-LINE SEMINAR was completed at the end of June. ITC has received many informal positive feedbacks from BCI-C and ACI-C’s who attended the seminar. We are currently conducting a formal survey and will share these results with the members of IBITA.

The Instructor Training Committee is planning to offer 2022 modules in February AND in August/September

The venue for all 3 Modules will be held at the Rehabilitation Amakusa Hospital, Saitama,, Japan

Research Committee
The Research Committee will be presenting their first Webinar on 16th October 2021
“How to start research activity- rules regarding case report and case series research: an example of research carried out during the basic course by an IBITA instructor.”  Research Committee members and Klaus Gusowski at 1:30 pm European Time

Call for Poster Presentations for 2021 Virtual IBITA Congress
IBITA members involved in research are invited to present their completed or ongoing research study with a poster presentation The study must be related to neurological rehabilitation and the Bobath concept.  All study designs are invited.
Submissions accepted until 29^th July.

Please note that the procedure of submitting nominees for any committee will close on 21st July 2021. This is caused by the postal voting regulations.
The AGM agenda shows all the current nominees.
