Executive Committee News
Covid-19 EXEMPTIONS
The Executive and Education Committees are continuing to work together to provide advice and guidance for planning and teaching IBITA courses during this pandemic.
Please remember to contact the Executive Committee for all exemptions and questions.Please remember that all members have been granted exemptions for

  • Not teaching a course from July 2019 to June 2021
  • The 2020 and 2021 AGMs will not be counted when establishing compliance with the AGM attendance rule.
  • More Experienced Instructors – The period 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2021 shall not be counted to establish compliance with the requirement to evaluate Instructor-Candidates on Basic Courses in the previous 5 years

Education Committee
Education Committee Webinar Series 2021 / 2022
The Education Committee is pleased to invite you to a series of webinars to be held over the  next few months to help us stay connected and to share knowledge and experience regarding the Bobath Concept. The details of upcoming webinars are available on the website – LINK 
During the webinars it will be possible to ask questions online to open discussion on the topic.  The webinars will be recorded and available on the website for those unable to participate in the online session.
The next webinar will be on 11th December 2021 at 13.30 Europe time – further details of the title and the speakers to follow

Instructor Training Committee
The Instructor Training Committee is planning to offer 2022 modules in February AND in August/September.
Please note: The registration and payment deadline for the Modules to be held February 2022 in Brescia is fast approaching. Please register soon if you plan to attend a Module as payment must be received for the module by 15th December 2021.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL BCI-C’S & ACI-C’S ATTENDING THE MODULES IN JAPAN
Instructor-candidates will be given preferential priority registration on a “first come, first served” basis  until 1st April 2022 for the modules to be held in Japan.

Qualification Committee
We would like to congratulate Samuel Jimenez and Janet Stevens who have now become Panel members. We are now looking to recruit another eleven members to join the existing team.

Call for Expression of Interest to become a Qualification Panel Member.
The Qualification Committee is looking to expand the membership of the Qualification Panel. The panel currently has 13 members worldwide. Further representation will enable even greater depth and collaboration within our global organization. We are currently open for applications from any region.

Who is Currently on the Panel?  The names and countries of residence of current members are listed  on the website – LINK

Who is Eligible? – Instructors who are currently teaching IBITA recognized courses and have experience in evaluating Instructor-Candidates
What Skills will I Need?

  • effective oral and written communication skills in your native language, and English as a second language
  • knowledge and comprehension of the qualification process (or willingness to learn)
  • proficiency in computer technology including familiarity with a broad range of web based programs such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Youtube, Skype, Zoom (or willingness to learn)

Why become a Qualification Panel Member?

  • being a Panel Member enables you to evaluate the Instructor-Candidates and qualify them by a fair and transparent process
  • Panel Members work closely with the Qualification Committee, and assist in shaping the future development of the Qualification Process

What is involved?

  • Qualification Panel members must commit to being involved in an evaluation of an Instructor-Candidate at least once every 2 years, working in collaboration with other panel members
  • This involves reviewing Instructor-Candidate’s Portfolio of Evidence and then attending, either live or virtually the 2 day Qualification Event
  • Qualification Panel members will receive an honorarium for the days they attend the Qualification event, their expenses for travel and accommodation, and a subsistence allowance.

How do I apply?

  • Download the EOI form from Google Docs – Procedural Manual files – 4.1.4.5. Expression of Interest (EOI) form – Qualification Panel Member  (LINK)
  • Send your EOI to Alena Scurrah: alenascurrah@gmail.com

Applications will be screened against the Qualification Panel: Person Specification and formally considered by the Qualification Committee, short-listed and then interviewed.

Other news
Teaching an IBITA Basic course in UAE
A request has been received from UAE for instructors to teach a Basic course in a rehabilitation hospital. If you are interested in teaching this course, please let me know and I can give you more information.
