Executive Committee News:
Our appreciation to all membership for staying connected and responding to the committee surveys and to our committee and working group members for continuing their IBITA work through these extraordinary times.
Exemptions
Membership are reminded to review the list of exemptions listed in the AGM Special Notice – Covid-19.  Please submit all exemption requests to the EC.
Exemption requests that involve course content are considered in collaboration with the Education Committee and when instructor-candidates are involved, the Qualification Committee. The attached document has been generated based on the responses to exemption requests to date and may assist members – “Information for membership regarding Covid-19 course exemptions” – LINK. 
You are invited to contact the Executive Committee for all exemptions and questions.The Statement of Instructor Status (SIS) form is now ready to be completed.
Every IBITA member must fill in this form before 1st July. To complete your SIS please go to the member webpage – Select “Your Profile” – select “Edit your Profile” – select “Fill in your Statement of Instructor Status Survey”.

All voting this year will be by postal vote. Postal votes will only be accepted from full members who have paid their subscriptions and completed their SIS by the required dates.

Important – Please look at the “Important dates” webpage  LINK  as it has new information about the deadlines for motions for the 2020 Agenda, committee reports and submitting your postal votes.

Education Committee
Survey Monkey re CPD Barriers and Facilitators

Continuing professional development (CPD) is the process by which IBITA Instructors and Instructor Candidates keep updated to meet the needs of the organisation and their own professional development. It includes the continuous acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and attitudes to enable competent practice in the context of multidisciplinary patient care.
A role of the Education Committee is to develop, support and promote a culture of continuing professional development to develop teaching practices and that of the Peer Review Committee to monitor IBITA Instructors’ CPD.
Both committees were keen to acquire a better understanding of what CDP activities the membership undertake to develop their teaching practices as well as barriers and facilitators to CPD and a Survey Monkey questionnaire was sent out.  There were just 32 responses, which have been summarized in the PowerPoint presentation below  LINK. The two committees have had a recent Skype meeting to discuss the responses to this survey and there is a plan to upload portfolio examples and checklists of what to include in a CPD portfolio on the members website.
There are many activities both formal (structured learning with clear objectives and outcomes) and informal (self managed learning,) both of which are very relevant to the IBITA membership.
We also discussed that announcements of interesting and relevant upcoming conferences and congresses as well as on-line educational courses may be another useful resource for the membership.  This would be something that can be reported in the monthly IBITA newsletter and committees as well as the membership could send items of interest directly to the IBITA secretary for inclusion in the newsletter.

Research Committee

This week the link to the Google survey regarding the proposal for the Scientific Director was sent to everyone. So far we have received about 45 responses – thank you to this members who have already provided us with useful feedback. The deadline for completion is 10th June so please complete the survey as soon as you can. LINK

Nominating Committee
The preparations for this year’s elections are still in progress.
We are very happy, that we already received nominations. However, please have a look at the listed committee posts. It is always preferable to have some more members, standing for nomination.
