Congratulations
Congratulations to Paul Lee of South Korea who has been awarded a PhD for his Thesis entitled: Effects of Kinetic Chain Exercise with Lumbopelvic Neutralisation on Postural Symmetry, Balance and Gait for Stroke Patients. He received his award at the end of June

Subscriptions must be paid after 1 July and no later than 31 August –  Invoice.
Members are reminded that the country world economies change every year, please check your country on the invoice.

Continuing professional development (CPD) is the process by which IBITA Instructors and Instructor Candidates keep updated to meet the needs of the organisation and their own professional development. It includes the continuous acquisition of new knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable competent practice in the context of multidisciplinary patient/client care.  A role of the Education Committee is to develop, support and promote a culture of CPD to develop teaching practices and that of the Peer Review Committee to monitor CDP. It is timely to reflect on the nature of professional development in IBITA and to acquire a better understanding of what Instructors and Instructor Candidates currently do to develop their teaching practice. This understanding of current attitudes and behaviours with respect to CPD will then provide a good basis on which to develop resources and educational days to support the IBITA membership.
Both committees would be grateful if Instructors and Instructor Candidates would complete the survey.

Research Committee
Call for Oral Presentations and for Poster Presentations for 2019 IBITA Congress
IBITA members involved in research are invited to present their completed or ongoing research study to the 2019 IBITA Congress.  The study must be related to neurological rehabilitation and the Bobath concept.  All study designs are invited.
Submissions accepted until 29th July.

The Research Committee is updating the list of ongoing research projects regarding the Bobath Concept.

Teaching in Bangladesh
A request has been received to teach a Basic course at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) Dhaka in Bangladesh.
Two introductory courses have already been taught at this centre and they are now looking to host the first basic course to be delivered in Bangladesh. If you are interested please let me know.

Finally, there will be a Pre-Congress Information newsletter mailed out at the beginning of August and then the next newsletter will be in September
