Congratulations
We would like to congratulate Jaime MacDonald from Canada and Pablo Campos from Costa Rica who qualified as Basic Course Instructors in October 2023.
Statement of Instructor Status (SIS) for 2023. Some members have still not submitted their SIS – this is a requirement for membership.
The 2023 SIS for all members including retired members and instructor candidates closed on 30th June. All members including HLM, retired must complete their SIS every year to maintain their membership of IBITA.
All Instructor Candidates (BCIC and ACIC) must upload a personal training profile form (PTPF) with their SIS submission even if they have not completed an assistantship during the last year.
To complete your SIS please go to the member webpage – Select “Your Profile” – select “Edit your Profile” – select “Fill in your Statement of Instructor Status Survey”.
Sharing information
Please send information regarding interesting and relevant upcoming conferences and congresses, as well as online educational courses to the IBITA Secretary so this can included in the newsletters.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating committee is working hard to promote an active participation of the
members to the association’s life. Starting form this month, we decided to include in
the newsletter a short introduction about the different committees. Our intent is to
clarify the role, current work, and future plans of each committee that have vacant
posts for the next year, in order to keep members informed and updated.
The first presentation is from the chairperson of the Nomination Committee.
“My name is Cecilia Löfgren from Finland. I have been a member of IBITA since 2013.
I have been a member of the Nomination Committee since 2018. For me, it was an
easy decision to make when I was asked if I wanted to stand for nomination to the
Nomination Committee, because without committed members, IBITA does not work. I
started my committee work by being on the nomination committee, which has been
very good for me. I have gained a very good overview of almost all IBITA members
and all the different committees.
What is The Nomination Committee?
The purpose of the Nomination Committee is to search for and contact people who want to
run for office. The Nomination Committee consists of three members and the term of office is
three years. A member of this committee can be re-elected, but cannot serve more than two
consecutive terms.
We want to promote an active participation from all IBITA members. We will start by providing
information in the newsletter about all IBITA committees. Our plans are also to send out a
survey to all IBITA members. The purpose of the survey is to collect data. We want to collect data from all IBITA members and understand if they have been members of any committee in
the past, we want to understand if members are interested in working on a committee in the
future, and understand why members are reluctant to stand for a position on a committee.
Next year there will be a vacancy in the Nomination Committee, and we hope to receive many
nominations for the vacant seat. Come and join an inspiring team while getting a great
overview of all IBITA’s committees and members. The workload is not unreasonable, we
work via email and sometimes meet via Zoom, so do not hesitate to contact any of us if you
have any questions. We are waiting for your application.”
