Covid-19 EXEMPTIONS
The Executive and Education Committees are continuing to work together to provide advice and guidance for planning and teaching IBITA courses during this pandemic.

Certificate for IBITA recognised Bobath therapist
A certificate has been developed for an IBITA recognised Bobath Therapist.
Any therapist who uses the title ‘Bobath Therapist’ or ‘ Bobath Trained therapist’
must have completed a Basic Course and a minimum of two IBITA Advanced courses, including one within the previous five years. Alternatively, they must currently be an IBITA Instructor or IBITA Instructor Candidate. Please inform all course participants there is a certificate available for 10 Euros which is valid for five years. Requests for a downloadable certificate should be sent to the IBITA secretary. This information will be available on the public pages of the IBITA website.
Advice on file transfers of up to 2GB
If any member has advice on methods for managing the transfers of files up to 2GB in size so that viewing of the data is possible without downloading the file, please contact IBITA Chairperson Marc Michielsen – [email protected]

Education Committee Webinar Series 2022
The Education Committee is pleased to invite you to a series of webinars to be held in 2022 to help us stay connected and to share knowledge and experience regarding the Bobath Concept.
The webinar ‘Case reports using the MBCP’ led by Monica Morelli was held on February 19th

During the webinars it will be possible to ask questions online to open discussion on the topic. The webinars will be recorded and available on the website for those unable to participate in the online session.

Instructor Training Committee
The Instructor Training Committee of IBITA is very happy to inform you that we have been
able to secure a venue and dates for the 3 Modules in late August early September 2022. They will be held at Burgau in Germany, a 1.5-hour train ride from Munich.
- Aug 25 – 28 BCIC module – Postural Control and the Upper Limb
- Aug 30 – Sept 2 BCIC module – Postural Control and Locomotion
- Sept 4 – Sept 7 ACIC module – Using Task Analysis as a tool for developing clinical reasoning skills in the Bobath Concept (4 days)
The Basic Course Instructor Candidate Training Module is open for all Instructor Candidates and Instructors.
The Advanced Course Instructor Candidate Training Module is open for all Advanced Course Instructor Candidates & Basic Course Instructors who have instructed a minimum of five (5) Basic Courses

An individual, who is not yet a member of IBITA, may email the IBITA Secretary requesting permission to register for an IC Training Module. A letter of support from a Full Member must accompany the request, verifying anticipated successful first assistantship completion a minimum of one month (30 days) prior to module commencement. The individual must be a registered/paid Associate Member a minimum of one month (30 days) prior to module commencement. The one-month time frame allows the possibility to offer registration to an individual wait listed if the assistantship is not successfully completed. Note these individuals are not eligible for the IC Training Module Grant as only current ICs may apply for the Instructor-Candidate Training Module Grant. It is the responsibility of the supervising Full Member to provide the prospective IC all relevant information. Instructor-Candidate Training Module Grants
Financial Assistance for Instructor Training
BCIC Training Module Grants (Procedural Manual Part V)

– To cover cost of flight expenses to attend compulsory IC Training Modules, if cheapest economy flight expense is 750- Euro or more to attend module of current year AND 750- Euro or more to attend module in the previous or next year.
– Preference to members who have not previously received IBITA funding.
Bobath Development Fund (Procedural Manual Part V)
- For members residing in less resourced countries.
- Expenses associated with Basic Course Instructor Candidate assistantships, including the qualification event.
Basic and Advanced Course Instructor Candidates
Professional Development Support Grants (Procedural Manual Part V)
- For members with financial restrictions.
- Expenses towards attending Professional development activities not covered by other IBITA grants, including:
- Expenses to participate in ACIC Training Module and/or IBITA Congress.
- Expenses associated with Advanced Course Instructor Candidate assistantships, including the qualification event.
- Not eligible to re-apply for 4-years after grant receipt.

Instructors to teach in Bulgaria – We have been contacted by a private hospital located in Bulgaria who are developing their rehabilitation services and are looking for Bobath instructors who help train their staff.
