Executive Committee News:
AGM 2022 – The virtual AGM will be held on Saturday 3rd September. As soon as more information is available about the virtual educational components you will be informed.
Statement of Instructor Status (SIS)
Please remember to be able to vote at the AGM, full members must have completed their Statement of Instructor Status (SIS) before 30th June and have paid their IBITA subscription before 12th August 2022.
The 2022 SIS for all members including retired members and instructor candidates opens on 1st May. All members including HLM, retired and those members who completed their 2021 SIS in the last few months must complete their SIS every year to maintain their membership of IBITA.
All Instructor Candidates must upload a personal training profile form (PTPF) with their SIS submission even if they have not completed an assistantship during the last year.
To complete your SIS please go to the member webpage – Select “Your Profile” – select “Edit your Profile” – select “Fill in your Statement of Instructor Status Survey”.

Covid-19 EXEMPTIONS The Executive and Education Committees are continuing to work together to provide advice and guidance for planning and teaching IBITA courses during this pandemic.

Certificate for IBITA recognised Bobath therapist
A certificate has been developed for an IBITA recognised Bobath Therapist.
Any therapist who uses the title ‘Bobath Therapist’ or ‘ Bobath Trained therapist’
must have completed a Basic Course and a minimum of two IBITA Advanced courses, including one within the previous five years. Alternatively, they must currently be an IBITA Instructor or IBITA Instructor Candidate. Please inform all course participants there is a certificate available for 10 Euros which is valid for five years. Requests for a downloadable certificate should be sent to the IBITA secretary. This information will be available on the public pages of the IBITA website.
Advice on file transfers of up to 2GB
If any member has advice on methods for managing the transfers of files up to 2GB in size so that viewing of the data is possible without downloading the file, please contact IBITA Chairperson Marc Michielsen – [email protected]

Information sharing
If members have information regarding interesting and relevant upcoming conferences and congresses, or on-line educational courses, please forward the details to the IBITA Secretary for inclusion in future Newsletters.
Instructor Training Committee
The Instructor Training Committee plans to teach the modules in late August early September 2022. They will be held at Burgau in Germany, a 1.5 hour train ride from Munich.
Please register as soon as possible to secure a place.
- Aug 25 – 28 BCIC module – Postural Control and the Upper Limb
- Aug 30 – Sept 2 BCIC module – Postural Control and Locomotion
- Sept 4 – Sept 7 ACIC module – Using Task Analysis as a tool for developing clinical reasoning skills in the Bobath Concept (4 days)
The Basic Course Instructor Candidate Training Module is open for all Instructor Candidates and Instructors.
The Advanced Course Instructor Candidate Training Module is open for all Advanced Course Instructor-candidates & Basic Course Instructors who have instructed a minimum of five (5) Basic Courses

The Research Committee would would like to invite IBITA members to a webinar entitled: “Systematic Reviews – why and how are they created and how to use them? The webinar will be supported by examples of systematic reviews that have been published on the Bobath concept.
The webinar will be held on Saturday 25th June at 1pm Europe time and presented by members of the Research Committee. More information will be included in the May newsletter.
