As the new year starts it is useful to remind ourselves of the changes that were voted in at the AGM in 2019 so please read the Chairperson’s Post 2019 AGM Circular (LINK) This has information about the motions that were passed at the AGM and requests for actions to be taken by the membership.

The 36th IBITA AGM/Congress will be held in Marstrand (near Gothenburg), Sweden
on 26th -29th August 2020. Registration is NOT yet open

Instructor Training Committee
2020 I-C Training Module Registration opened January 1, 2020
The title is “Understanding the Complexity of Postural Control for the Functional Recovery of the Upper Limb and Hand” and will be held from Saturday 22nd August to Tuesday 25th August 2020

Please note the closing date for payment for this module is 1st May for Instructor-Candidates and 1st June for other applicants
2020 ACI-C Training Module Registration opened January 1, 2020
The title is “Advanced Clinical Reasoning in the Bobath Concept” and will be held from 30th August to 2nd September 2020

The ACIC module is now open to Basic Course Instructors who have taught five Basic Courses.
Please note the closing date for payment for this module is 1st May for Instructor-Candidates and 1st June for other applicants
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL IC’s AND POTENTIAL NEW IC’s
Instructor-candidates will be given priority registration on a “first come, first served” basis until April 1st. All instructor candidates, and prospective new candidates meeting the criteria below, should submit their I-C Training Module registration before April 1 to secure a place on the module.
An individual, who is not yet a member of IBITA, may email the IBITA Secretary requesting permission to register for an I-C Training Module. A letter of support from a Full Member must accompany the request, verifying anticipated successful first assistantship completion a minimum of one month (30 days) prior to module commencement. The individual must be a registered/paid Associate Member a minimum of one month (30 days) prior to module commencement. The one-month time frame allows the possibility to offer registration to an individual wait listed if the assistantship is not successfully completed. Note these individuals are not eligible for the IC Training Module Grant as only current ICs may apply for the Instructor-Candidate Training Module Grant with submission deadline January 30.
It is the responsibility of the supervising Full Member to provide the prospective IC all relevant information.

The Education Committee was mandated in 2015 to develop a revised definition of the Bobath concept. This study was developed collaboratively between the IBITA Education Committee and the first author (Julie Vaughan-Graham) and last author (Dina Brooks) who are rehabilitation research scientists. We are delighted to inform membership that the Education Committee project completed with Julie Vaughan-Graham has been published: “Developing a revised definition of the Bobath concept: Phase three” (LINK)
Research Committee

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee would like to encourage everybody to think about your nomination. You all are very welcome to get in contact with the listed committee members and/or the Nominating Committee as well.
We also want to ask all the country representatives to forward this message to your country colleagues. If you meet in your country groups there will be the chance to share your thinking about any person who could stand for nomination.
Please don’t hesitate to ask for any information.
