Only IBITA-recognised instructors in good standing are entitled to lead IBITA-recognised courses and issue certificates with the official IBITA stamp.

- Basic Course Instructors, Advanced Course Instructors and Senior Instructors are qualified to lead courses.
- Basic Course Instructor is a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist who is qualified to lead basic courses.
- Advanced Course Instructor is a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist who is qualified to lead both basic and advanced courses.
- Senior Instructor is a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist who is qualified to lead both basic and advanced courses.

Maintaining Instructor certification
In order to maintain Instructor certification, the Instructor must:
- Have fulfilled the Duties of Members as described in the IBITA Byelaws.
- Teach at least one IBITA-recognised course every three years.
- Maintain clinical experience (actual treatment of adults with neurological conditions) of a minimum of 300 hours annually.
- Participate in continuing professional development activities.
