Research Committee

1. Purpose

    1.1   To encourage evidence-based practice and enable members to evaluate published articles critically.

    1.2   To assist in identifying relevant research questions .

    1.3   To advise on setting up research protocols.

    1.4   To evaluate research proposals - relevant to the Bobath Concept - and make a recommendation to the EC regarding funding.

    1.5   To structure/ define guidelines for applications for research funding.

    1.6   To advise on the process on where to apply for funding from other sources.

    1.7   To propose and promote research projects.

    1.8   To keep an updated list of successful applicants and their ongoing and completed research projects.

    1.9   To suggest a suitable mentor or supervisor for individual members' research projects.

2. Composition

    2.1   5 members with formal research competency.

    2.2   Each member serves a term of 3 years with opportunity for re-election.

3. Conduct

    3.1   Contact through e-mail.

    3.2   Conference calls if necessary and funding as required for meetings approved by the EC.

    3.3   Report to the Executive Committee mid-year meeting and the AGM.
